Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) provides communities with an opportunity to develop deeper connections with local farmers. Picking up fresh vegetables from those who grew them is a special experience, and offers the chance to learn exactly where your food comes from.

What’s in a CSA box?

When you sign up for a “Common Crate” CSA with ACES, you’ll receive a weekly share of fresh produce straight from Rock Bottom Ranch. Each weekly share will vary throughout the season, helping CSA participants to gain a better understanding of seasonality while enjoying the freshest and tastiest produce. CSA members will also receive a weekly update from Rock Bottom Ranch farmers.

How is a “Common Crate” CSA different from other CSAs?

Our weekly shares are based on our most popular produce, as well as the standard classics. Backbone crops include greens (salad mix, arugula, swiss chard, and kale), radishes, and cucumbers. Seasonally-rotating crops include, but are not limited to: salad turnips, snap peas, cherry tomatoes, heirloom tomatoes, slicer tomatoes, summer squash, potatoes, kohlrabi, green beans, fennel, and broccoli.

How many people does it feed?

One “Common Crate” CSA share is packed with 6-9 crops each week. This size share can work for anyone, while still allowing for flexibility in your meal planning. “Common Crate” shares can supplement a large family or feed a single person.

Can I do a half share?

We do not offer half shares, but we encourage you to split a box with a friend. You can alternate weeks or split the produce up each week – you decide!

How long is the season and how much does it cost?

Our 18-week season begins on Wednesday, June 3 and ends on September 30, 2020. CSA members can pick up between 7:30am and 6pm on Wednesdays at Rock Bottom Ranch in Basalt. The cost for the season is $630, with sliding scale pricing options and playment plans available. Email abarsanti@aspennature.org for more information.

What about meat and eggs?

Our pasture-raised eggs, chicken, lamb, and beef is seasonally available to purchase on-site at Rock Bottom Ranch during pick-up.

How do I sign up?
