Kamille Winslow

School Programs Manager

Kamille Winslow was raised in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Throughout her childhood, Kamille navigated how to best share her appreciation for the outdoors with others. Photography was her first route, but Kamille realized she also needed science to know what she was observing in nature. In the spring of 2016, Kamille graduated from the University of Miami with a degree in Geologic and Ecosystem Science and Policy. In Florida, Kamille was humbled by science and inspired to ask questions, look more closely, and feel more fully the character of where she was learning. Kamille also discovered her passion for teaching while in the sunshine state. In the latter half of college, Kamille led nature-based science camps for two summers at the Montshire Museum of Science. In the fall of 2016, she connected her love of nature, art, science, and teaching in the Teton Science Schools’ graduate program. As a graduate student, Kamille taught in Grand Teton National Park and Wyoming classrooms in addition to completing thesis research in Yellowstone National Park. In 2019, she graduated from the University of Wyoming with a Master’s of Science in Natural Science Education and Environment and Natural Resources.

For the next two years, Kamille continued her environmental science career as an ACES Educator at Basalt Elementary School. In the summer of 2021, Kamille became the School Programs Manager at ACES. Kamille supervises nine environmental science Educators across ACES’ four partner schools in the Roaring Fork Valley.
On her current route, as a manager, Kamille facilitates growth in Educator instructional strategies and environmental science curriculum. At the heart of her commitment to education is caring for individual student needs and curiosity to inspire their care for natural places.

Kamille’s favorite place to be is in the Rocky Mountains. She loves to hike, run, backpack and ski, and is always looking for the next range to photograph, sketch or write about. Her passion for art and science are inextricably linked to the way Kamille learns, teaches, manages, and recreates.
