Mindful Birding

Join Jarid Rollins, a local therapist, on a moving mindfulness walk through Rock Bottom Ranch. Learn about how our relationship with our minds and bodies can be strengthened through our relationship with birds and their environment. We will learn skills of mindfulness and emotional regulation by tapping into the movement, beauty and stories of birds. Jarid utilizes concepts of traditional therapies and forest bathing to encourage individuals towards wellbeing.

Designed for birders and nonbirders alike. The goal of the class is mindfulness and understanding of self in the context of nature.

June 4 & July 15 are at ACES at Rock Bottom Ranch.

August 5 will be at ACES at Hallam Lake in Aspen.

About the Instructor: Jarid Rollins has been a professional therapist for 10 years and an amateur birder for 30. For years he has attempted to combine these two disciplines and believes that we are at our most whole when in nature. Jarid works with Midvalley Family Practice, Pathfinders, Clinica Del Pueblo and the University of Denver School of Social Work, and considers this new endeavor, of bird therapy, a great joy.
