Around the Ranch
The first Rock Bottom Ranch Farm to Table Dinner of the 2014 summer season was held last Friday, June 27th and was quite an amazing evening. These dinners are a celebration of local food producers, food artisans, and the Roaring Fork Valley community. We were fortunate to have a beautiful evening to meet members of the local food community and enjoy their products

David Matthews, Head Distiller for Woody Creek Distillers, greeted guests with cocktails featuring the vodka that he makes just two miles away. The potatoes for the vodka are grown in Woody Creek and Emma, just a few miles away from the ranch.

Wines from Carlson Vineyard, located in Palisade, and Aspen Brewing Company beers were also available for guests throughout the evening.  

After a short cocktail gathering, guests were led on a farm tour to see the Ranch’s livestock and vegetable productions. The tour highlighted production methods and practices that RBR uses to maintain (and improve) the soil and pastures.

After the farm tour, Kevin McCullen, Head Cheesemaker for Avalanche Cheese Company, walked guests through a selection of cheeses that he makes just four miles from the Ranch. Dinner followed with ingredients from Rock Bottom Ranch, Borden Farm, Okagawa Farms, Osage Gardens, and Clark Family Orchards. The evening concluded with dessert and coffee & tea, roasted by Bonfire Coffee Company and blended by Two Leaves Tea, respectively.

We are very fortunate to have so many people in our community committed to sustainable agriculture. It is a pleasure to highlight a few of these premium, local products.

Available Products
Rock Bottom Ranch has a full inventory of chicken, pork, lamb and Crystal River Meats beef, as well as a variety of salad greens.

The first batch of pasture-raised whole chickens is now available, as well as our delicious non-GMO, Animal Welfare Approved chicken and duck eggs.  

A full pork inventory is now available including chops, shoulder roasts, ribs, bacon, smoked hams, fresh ham roasts, and several flavors of sausage.

Lamb cuts include frenched racks, chops, shoulder roasts, ground lamb and bratwurst.
