Register your Bird Feeder for the Aspen Area Audubon Christmas Bird Count

ACES is mapping local bird feeders for the Audubon Christmas Bird Count in the Aspen area! Because birds tend to gather at food sources such as back yard feeders, knowing the locations of local feeders will enable us to gather the most accurate data for the Aspen area count. By registering your feeder and allowing us access to view and count birds for no more than 10 minutes on Sunday, December 14th, you’ll help us gather data to contribute to the longest-running citizen science survey in the world!

Our count circle (a 15-mile diameter circle centered roughly over Cozy Point Ranch) includes the following communities and neighborhoods: City of Aspen, Mountain Valley, Highlands, Snowmass Village, Brush Creek neighborhoods, Red Mountain, Cemetery Lane, McClain Flats, Woody Creek, Lenado, Old Snowmass, Snowmass Canyon, Aspen Village.

To register your feeder, please email Aspen Christmas Bird Count Coordinator, Rebecca Weiss, austinrebeccaweiss@gmail.com, providing your address and granting ACES permission to count birds in your yard for no more than 10 minutes between 8AM and 3:30PM on December 14th. If you’d like to join us for the Christmas Bird Count outing, please RSVP here.
