Kate Schoenecker,
Research Wildlife Biologist, U.S. Geological Survey
Dr. Kate Schoenecker has been conducting research on the ecology of ungulates for 22 years.
She studied desert bighorn sheep for her Master’s degree at the University of Arizona in Tucson and received her Ph.D. from Colorado State University on bison and elk grazing ecology in the Great Sand Dunes ecosystem. She currently leads a wild horse and burro research program at United States Geological Survey, as well as research to support bison conservation.
