Calling all nature detectives! Our world would be one big garbage patch if it weren’t for nature’s F.B.I. These key players that sustain all life on the planet are known as Fungus, Bacteria, and Invertebrates. Lucky for us, whenever something dies, nature’s F.B.I. is on the scene, breaking down organic materials and turning them back into soil. You will investigate the dirty, but crucial, job of nature’s F.B.I. by turning over rotting logs, churning up the compost pile, and using a microscope to unveil the millions of bacteria and other microorganisms that exist in just one cup of soil. You’ll never look at your food the same once you figure out how dirt made your lunch. “Nature never hurries. Atom by atom, little by little she achieves her work.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
