Earth Day in May

Join us at Hallam Lake to plant willows on Thursday, May 12 from 4-7pm, to celebrate Earth Day in May! Come prepared to get your hands dirty by bringing some work gloves and sturdy shoes. ACES will provide light snacks and some alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Come for an hour or join us for the whole event.

Over this winter ACES undertook a major repair and restoration project at Hallam Lake. As part of the project we created new wetlands around Hallam Lake and now they need to be planted. Come help plant some willows and you’ll be providing food for beavers, deer, and elk, habitat for songbirds, and so much more!

Please walk, bike, WE-cycle, bus, or carpool to ACES at Hallam Lake, as parking is extremely limited. Two-hour free parking is available in the West End. To access the preserve from the West End, follow the paved trail behind the Red Brick Building to the Nick DeWolfe Stairway to Hallam Lake.
