Please join us for Wild Perspectives speaker Alyssa Barsanti at The Collective on Tuesday, March 22, at 7pm, for “Starting a Ranch Operation from the Ground Up.”

Alyssa Barsanti will speak about her trials, tribulations and wild times in her first year of operating Marigold Livestock Co. Marigold Livestock is a pasture-based livestock company, raising quality meats while building soil and stewarding the land. As a one-person operation, Alyssa had a hand in it all. Stumbling through building a website, designing business cards, navigating farm insurance, and of course, growing grass and raising livestock; Alyssa’s first season was far from dull. Come listen to this presentation to hear the highs and lows and ultimately why Alyssa believes all this hard work is worth it.

Originally from California, Alyssa has lived in the Roaring Fork Valley since 2014. Before starting Marigold Livestock Co., she farmed for ACES at Rock Bottom Ranch, raising livestock and growing vegetables. Alyssa truly loves all things agriculture. When not fully exhausted from farm work, Alyssa loves to mountain bike and ski. When she’s fully exhausted, she loves to casually ducky down the river.

Wild Perspectives, launched in January 2020, features exciting accounts of world travel, adventure, and the natural world through stories and visual media. This series, which provides an opportunity for community-building and story-telling, is in partnership with Aspen Center for Environmental Studies (ACES) and The Collective.
