About the Instructor:

Alejandra was born and raised in Chihuahua City, Mexico. Taking after her father’s steps, she pursued a Law Degree and graduated summa cum laude in 2002. Shortly after, she moved to the Roaring Fork Valley following love and realized education was her true path in life. After working for the Roaring Fork School District for years, it was during the year of 2007 that she found in yoga a profound way to heal from a very sudden and tragic loss in her life that made her pursue an alternative way of life where yoga was the leading force.

Trained in Hatha and Kundalini Yoga, Alejandra began teaching in Carbondale in the year of 2009 in the small little studio of True Nature Healing Arts when it was first tucked in a corner of Main Street. After moving back to Mexico for a couple of years and teaching yoga in the city of Chihuahua, supporting the movement grow amongst its population, she came back to the States and continued sharing her love for yoga through different avenues.  After becoming a mama in the year of  2018, Alejandra dove into the practice of Yin and Restorative yoga as well.

Alejandra  wears many hats.  She has been a radio DJ for KDNK since 2008, DJ for ecstatic dances,  homeschooling mother, a farmer,  educator, board member for Alpine Legal Services and the one she has deeply enjoyed the most  is sharing her love for yoga and it’s healing power through the Spanish yoga class program offered by Stepping Stones since 2021, a non profit organization dedicated to cultivate strong mentoring relationships and community spaces for youth to foster personal growth, compassion and responsibility. She also has partnered sin

Alejandra has also partnered with ACES and Lead with Love through their Summer outdoor Wild Yoga series since 2003, teaching Yoga Salvaje at Rock Bottom Ranch.

She’s very excited and grateful to be teaching at Hallam Lake as well, starting in June of 2025.

Her classes are a mix of everything she has learned during 16 years of cultivating yoga in her life. Expect a little bit of different modalities weaved in through a flow of Hatha, a touch of Kundalini and ending with the restorative power of still poses surrounded by the compelling force of nature in Hallam Lake.
