Comments:

After early light rain, the fairly-warm, 58-degree morning was filled with cloudy, gray skies. This provided us with many smaller, usual-suspect birds in the cottonwood trees when approaching Hallam Lake. Seeing and hearing four Pygmy Nuthatches started the morning off right. The recent rain clinging to tree branches and grasses gave us a “small child” feeling while we made our way around Hallam Lake as a roosting Great Blue Heron circled on its way out for the day.   It was an excellent morning observing bird behavior at this time of year and tuning into their songs and calls. Join us for our next birding outing at Rock Bottom Ranch on August 4th when we hope to identify the hawks in the nest seen on our previous RBR outing! Advanced registration required.
