Comments:
A chilly morning with clear skies brought out many great birds for us at Rock Bottom Ranch today. Highlights were excellent observations of Killdeer at close range, a quick look at a Lewis’ Woodpecker, several observations is Wilson’s Snipe, and the beauty of Yellow Warblers and Cedar Waxwings. We discussed binoculars configurations and use as our mini-lesson, and covered special adaptations of Icterid Family species as well as field craft tips. Join us at North Star for a session focused on the Great Blue Heron nesting site there on Saturday June 18th 6:30am – 8:30am, in partnership with Pitkin County Open Space!
