Comments:
The dawn chorus this week included the Cordilleran Flycatcher’s song, making the cast more complete as migratory species continue to arrive or pass through the Aspen area. Active nesting behavior was observed for House Wrens and robins. We spent some time comparing Violet-green and Tree Swallows to learn the differences in their field marks both in flight and perched. We were also able to compare the Black-chinned and Broad-tailed Hummingbirds, for some rich learning with these often tricky species. Join us next week as bird activity continues to rise! June classes begin at 6am, concluding at 9am.
