Comments:

Fall migration continues through its progression as we see the last of the hummingbirds lingering in the Aspen area, and many warblers that have moved from their breeding habitat of high-elevation willow carrs to places where they are feeding between stages of migration (such as in the balsam poplars at ACES). A highlight of today’s outing included a discussion among participants about how they became interested in birding. Many shared similar stories, with moments of special observations, and feelings of being connected to the natural world through learning about birds. Our group included several people who were new to birding, which is always such a wonderful treat and opportunity to help fuel their passion and to be re-inspired by their excitement. Join us next Tuesday at 7:30am for Morning Birding at Rock Bottom Ranch, the last outing scheduled for RBR this year.
