Around the Ranch
The team at ACES at Rock Bottom Ranch has been working extra hard during the last few weeks to get the Ranch ready for summer. There are a few large projects in the works that will improve guest experience as well as efficiency for our agricultural production.
The Field Studies Center is currently undergoing a renovation, made possible in part by a partnership with Land + Shelter. Improved office space, renovated interior, updated restrooms and a new entrance are just a few of the highlights of that project. Additionally, a new edible living wall inside the kitchen is fun way for us to produce even more food.
The agriculture team has broken ground on a few additions to the vegetable production area. Construction for a new seed starting house is currently underway (foundation pictured above). The structure will allow us to extend our growing season into the shoulder months. A new irrigation line is being installed that will allow us to move water around more efficiently and reduce some of our water consumption.
We have a few other small surprises for the summer currently in the works… Stay tuned for announcements in the coming weeks.
Visit the Ranch this spring to see the progress on some of these projects and to meet our new team members!
