Christy Mahon
Development Director
Christy Mahon is a high-energy, innovative fundraiser with more than 20 years of philanthropy experience and success in surpassing goals for major gifts, corporate gifts, capital campaigns, and event fundraising. Raised in Denver, Colorado, Christy studied Museum Studies and Art History at Denver University.
She moved to Aspen in 1998 to work at the Aspen Art Museum and soon fell in love with the mountain life and the Aspen community. At ACES since 2011, Christy leads a stellar development team to plan and coordinate multiple simultaneous programs that offer special and appealing opportunities to donors.
She loves strategies that include unique ways of connecting individual donors with the natural world and incorporating numerous vehicles for giving. On a personal level, Christy is continually inspired and humbled by the high peaks of her native state Colorado and mountains around the world. She has spent the last two decades climbing and skiing the highest peaks in Colorado with her husband, Ted Mahon. Christy loves to travel by foot or skis around the globe to experience different mountain ranges and cultures. When not in the backcountry, she enjoys good books, gardening, volunteering for English in Action, and sewing.
