Emily Williams

Field Programs Coordinator

Emily is the Field Programs Coordinator at the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies (ACES). She schedules and teaches field programs and works with educators to train and prepare them to teach field programs. Her favorite programs include Geology at the Maroon Bells or Snow Science in the Elk Mountains. She loves getting to know the students and teachers in our community and providing a fun progression of programs to explore our local phenomena year after year!

Previously Emily has worked as a research scientist with the Ardoin Social Ecology Lab at Stanford University where she researched social emotional learning in residential EE, co-managed projects on environmental behavior change and helped create an online course for environmental educators to learn about research. She has a B.S. in Geological and Environmental Sciences and a M.A. in Environmental Communication from Stanford. During her undergraduate studies she researched Mid-Miocene volcanic systems in eastern Oregon, and worked at the outdoor center and climbing gym.

Outside of work Emily loves to move in the mountains. She loves the seasons we have in Colorado and is always excited to get out and ski, climb, bike or hike, especially if there are cool rocks to nerd out about!
